Last updated: 1 January 2026

Please read these terms carefully before using CV Matcher. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CV Matcher platform, available at cvmatcher.work ("the Service"), operated by CV Matcher ("we", "us", "our").

By registering for an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You may use the Service if you are:

You may not use the Service on behalf of any person or organisation that is prohibited from using it under applicable law.

3. Your account

You are responsible for:

You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits.

4. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:

5. Candidate data — your obligations

When you upload CVs and candidate personal data to the Service, you are the data controller for that data. You warrant that:

CV Matcher acts as a data processor on your behalf for candidate data. We process it solely to provide the Service and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual property

You retain all ownership rights in the content you upload — your job descriptions, CVs, and any other materials. By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to process it solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

All other elements of the Service — including the software, UI design, algorithms, and branding — are owned by CV Matcher and protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from any part of the Service.

7. Subscription and payments

The Service offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis.

Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms of service.

8. Free trial

We may offer a free trial of paid features. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged. Trial terms are shown at the point of sign-up.

9. Service availability

We aim to keep the Service available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may perform maintenance or updates that temporarily limit access. We will endeavour to minimise disruption and give advance notice of planned downtime where possible.

We are not liable for losses arising from service interruptions, including those caused by third-party infrastructure providers.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding:

CV Matcher is a screening assistance tool. All hiring decisions remain your responsibility. You should not rely solely on AI-generated match scores when making employment decisions.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CV Matcher shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of data, or reputational damage.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or use the Service in a way that could harm us or other users. We will notify you where possible, except where immediate action is required for security reasons.

You may delete your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
